PhD Overview
Gabon is a country in Central Africa, its geology subdivided into four (4) major stratigraphic Tectonic units described in a regional context. The study area is the Mounana region in the Haut-Ogooué province of Gabon. This region of 11,443 inhabitants was heavily mined for uranium from April 1961 to June 1999. This industrial operation has revealed the presence of some fifteen natural reactors on the Oklo and Okelebongo sites near Mounana, and the Bagombé site a little further south. The aim of this work is to study the impact of uranium mining at Mounana, by experimentally measuring isotopes in the reaction zones of the Oklo and Bangombé natural nuclear reactors. On the other hand, we plan to model the evolution of this isotopy, taking into account thermal effects in the reaction zones, and revisit the problems of actinide diffusion in the core environment. In this way, we aim to contribute further to our understanding of the mechanisms behind the development of natural nuclear reactors in Gabon.

About Me
At the end of my studies, I’d like to join my country’s civil service professional career as a university teacher-researcher. I would contribute to the advancement of research in laboratory work that can have a positive impact on human life and the environment. positive repercussions on human life and the environment, offer services in local companies and contribute to the pedagogical training of future generations. future generations. However, we are working on a project to set up a research laboratory for radiation protection and nuclear safety in Gabon. and nuclear safety research laboratory in Gabon, which will enable future students to carry out internships in this field, and offer our country visibility not only on the African level as well as internationally, with a view to showcasing our skills.
