PhD Overview

My research used Fourier transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy in combination with multivariate data analytical tools, to track and monitor the effects of real-time exposure to mutagens in biological organisms. This technique is able to detect the slightest atypical alteration in biological matter and can provide the preliminary basis for further investigations e.g., genomics, proteomics etc. Methods involved are relatively low-cost, highly sensitive, and non-destructive meaning samples can subsequently be analyzed by more conventional approaches, facilitating deeper mechanistic insights
