PhD Overview

My research focuses on validating current design methods for deep foundations, such as piles and piled rafts, using conventional approaches, numerical modeling, and real data from full-scale tests. It addresses critical uncertainties, including soil variability, long-term behavior, external factors, and construction processes, ensuring safety and reliability. The expected outcomes aim to provide insights into soil-structure interaction, identify limitations of current methodologies, and contribute to improving technical design for enhanced infrastructure development.

About Me

Bolivian civil engineer specialized in geotechnics and land resource management. Former treasurer of the Bolivian Geotechnical Association and Head of the Civil Engineering BSc. program at UPB. Active in research and mentoring, I aim to instil engineering passion, promote resource management responsibility, and foster leadership in my students.
