PhD Overview

My Ph.D. dissertation aimed to understand the patterns and processes involved in the origin, maintenance, and diversification of montane birds in northern Central America. We assembled genetic, morphological, and climatic datasets to uncover biogeographic and evolutionary processes across a spatial and temporal continuum.

I am a university professor in my home country, where I am also the curator of birds in a research collection. I am a full member of the North American Classification Committee of the American Ornithological Society.
