- PhD Title: Assessing the Effectiveness of Forest Landscape Restoration Efforts in Malawi: Integrating Global Monitoring Tools and Local Stakeholder Perspectives
- Year of Completion: 2025

PhD Overview
My PhD research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) efforts in Malawi. The study integrates global land use/land cover (LULC) monitoring datasets with local stakeholder insights to assess the alignment and impact of restoration initiatives. By analyzing both large-scale data and on-the-ground project outcomes, the research aims to identify best practices, gaps, and scalable solutions for achieving national restoration targets outlined in Malawi’s National Forest Landscape Restoration Strategy, while contributing to global goals like the Bonn Challenge and CBD targets.
